Second Siloam Springs Product Enhances 2026 Class
Sebastian Romero joins fellow Siloam Springs senior Corbett Stephenson as incoming men's cross country and track and field athletes for NWACC next season
BENTONVILLE - NWACC Men's Track and Field and Cross Country coaches Josphat Boit and Chris Weller announced the signing of Sebastian Romero to the program Friday, marking the second addition from Siloam Springs High School this week.
"[Coaches Josphat Boit and Chris Weller] are definitely experienced and they seem to know a lot about running and how to get better," Romero said. "Also, the team feels very closely knit."
Romero joins NWACC alongside longtime teammate and fellow Siloam Springs Panther Corbett Stephenson, with whom he has twice set the 4x800-meter relay school record at the Arkansas 5A State Championship.
"We're both going to be able to just keep pushing each other," Romero said, "and I feel like we can only go up from here. Right now it feels like we're just practicing."
Early in his senior track and field season, Romero has already set a personal record in the 800 meters with a 2:19.63 March 10 at the Pioneer Relays in Gentry.
Romero and Stephenson are two of a growing class of incoming freshmen in 2026 looking to defend NWACC's five-peat in NJCAA Region 2 men's cross country. They kick off their NWACC careers in August.
