Bio
Omar Medina is the first-ever shot put athlete in school history and the first NWACC Track and Field athlete to represent the program at the NJCAA National Championships.
Medina grew up in Memphis, Tenn. but attended Har-Ber High School in Springdale, where he competed as a dual-sport athlete in football and track and field.
As a senior in 2025, Medina was named team Thrower of the Year for the Wildcats.
2027
Medina begins his sophomore season for the Eagles in 2027.
2026
Medina threw in six events during his freshman campaign, one which culminated in a ninth-place finish nationally in shot put. His 51' 10.5" attempt April 11 landed him a spot at nationals, and he bested that mark the next meet April 24 (52' 11.5").
Medina's 51' 1.5" throw at the 2026 NJCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships was one place shy of giving him NJCAA All-American status in his freshman year.
