Danny Kotula is NorthWest Arkansas Community College’s first Sports Information Director. He was named to the position by athletic director Brooke Brewer in October 2025.

A first-year member of the Eagles program, Kotula oversees coverage of NWACC’s varsity sports. He is tasked with content creation, media relations, statistical upkeep and other communications efforts for the athletic department.

Kotula joined NWACC from Oklahoma City, Okla., where he was a communications assistant for the Oklahoma City Comets and the play-by-play voice and media relations coordinator for Oklahoma United FC.

In 2024, Kotula moved to Stillwater, Okla. to begin an M.S. in Mass Communications with a Sports Communication Certificate from Oklahoma State University. He was named 2024-25 Distinguished Graduate Assistant for his work with the School of Media and Strategic Communications.

After graduating from Lipscomb University in December 2022 with B.A. degrees in Public Relations and Spanish, Kotula spent 2023 on a Fulbright U.S. Student grant in Cochabamba, Bolivia.

Kotula’s work will integrate student involvement, including collaboration with the Eagle View newspaper. While at Lipscomb, he was named 2022 Southeast Journalism Conference Sports Writer of the Year and earned third place honors in the Journalist of the Year category.

Live broadcasts for NWACC women’s and men’s soccer also fall under Kotula’s purview. Seasoned in audio and video broadcasting, Kotula has provided play-by-play commentary and broadcast production for clients including LEARFIELD and BeIN Sports Xtra. Since 2020, he has amassed 300 play-by-play reps in football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball and softball.

Born in Tacoma, Wash., Kotula’s move to Arkansas represents the 10th state he has resided in. He lives in Bentonville and enjoys live music, stand-up comedy and international travel.
